Xerox operates in many sectors and countries around the globe. We’re innovative, an exemplary environmental steward, a top-notch high tech entity and great place to work. We think so; trade and industry organizations think so too. Here’s a snapshot of recent awards that notable groups presented to Xerox.

Innovation Awards for Transportation

Can an intelligent parking management system cut drive time spent looking for parking, and reduce traffic congestion and pollution? The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) put the concept to a test. It operated the LA Express Park demonstration site to optimize the use of public on- and off-street parking. By way of demand data and analytics, LADOT adjusted parking zones and rates. It worked. LADOT liked it. The International Parking Institute (IPI) did too. IPI bestowed its Innovation Award on the Xerox team that developed the dynamic pricing engine deployed in the system. Take a bow, Xerox Innovation Group and Xerox Research Centre Europe.

Another honor for demand-based parking…. The International Transport Forum‘s (ITF) 2014 Summit focused on Transport for a Changing World. With this as its theme, ITF was duly impressed with the capabilities of the Xerox Merge smart parking solution, the same one deployed in Los Angeles. (The video, below, explains how Merge works.) Worldwide Market Leader in Managed Print Services

Xerox retained the top position in worldwide managed print services (MPS) for the fifth consecutive year in a new report by analyst research group Quocirca. “Managed Print Services Landscape, 2014″ says our leadership position in a competitive marketplace results from diverse strengths, including: Continued development and investment in its mature MPS portfolio; the depth and scale of our service offering, which spans office printing, production printing and IT and business process services; and our “deepened” broad range of assessment services. According to Quocirca: “Xerox has long-established, strong credentials in the MPS market. The strengthening of its software portfolio, particularly around its ConnectKey and workflow automation offerings, should help it drive more synergies between its content management and MPS offerings.”

Enviable Brands that Blow Away the Competition

Business2Community understands that “these days, competition for audience attention is intense ─ and in some cases cutthroat.” That’s why, “Some of the world’s most respected brands have decided, instead of noisily shouting their marketing message at the top of their lungs, to pursue more subtle campaigns that draw in consumers.” The group compiled a list of 35 brands that are “killing it at content marketing.” It says of Xerox, “A legacy image is always hard to shake. Xerox uses content to create clout and demonstrate leadership beyond photocopying.” With this in mind, our Real Business site was ranked at No. 4.

Global ACE Awards

The Business Marketing Association of New York wanted a way to recognize the great work the world’s biggest brands were doing in Business-to-Business marketing. So it introduced the “Global ACE Awards.” This program honors creative campaigns that: Promote innovations to create real and lasting change; inform and transform the way people do business; and shape the dynamics of commerce on industry-wide, nationwide and worldwide scales. This year, Xerox submitted its “Make It Simple” print campaign. It came in third place in the $250,000 & over print advertising campaign category. Best Global Green Brands

“Great news,” says Diane O’Connor, vice president, Global Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability. She is talking about how Xerox has climbed in the rankings on Interbrand’s “Best Global Green Brands” list. Dubbed a “top riser” last year, the company moved up two slots in 2014 to No. 27. In Interbrand’s words, “Xerox is enabling sustainable enterprise, which focuses on efforts that positively impact internal stakeholders, customers and the environment.” And it pinpoints those “efforts,” such as: ongoing development of energy-saving technologies—all new eligible products meet the U.S. ENERGY STAR requirements, and partnership with Sustainable Electronics Recycling International to encourage companies to responsibly reuse and recycle.

On the same theme, Xerox also made Newsweek’sGreen Rankings, 2014.” Together with its research partner Corporate Knights, the magazine published a list of the 500 greenest companies in America. Xerox came in at No. 101.

Tech Companies Millennials Really Want To Work For

As Millennials enter the workforce, a study from the National Society of High School Students offers insight into what they seek in an employer. More than 12,000 students took part in the “2014 Millennial Career Survey.” Their mission: Select three companies they would want to work for from a list of 200 choices. Xerox jumped in the ratings this year; it rose 25 spots to No. 128. The results included remarks about Xerox from the book, Managing the Millennials. It said: “The printer and document management company’s recruiting policy is a great example of how to appeal to Millennials … touting the idea that ‘you can be you at Xerox.'”

Best Workplaces in Greece

The Great Place to Work Institute Hellas compiled the “Best Workplaces Hellas” for 2014. More than 50 companies participated in the survey process. Members of the Great Place to Work Institute in Greece noted that the competition was one of the toughest in recent years. On the list of companies with 10 to 250 local employees, Xerox sits at No. 2.

Ex Awards

The “Ex Awards” is the world’s largest recognition program for experiential marketing; and it’s the only one judged by client-side marketers. This year, the contest drew a record-breaking number of entries ─ more than 850 event programs from 25 countries. The object: Find those that “not only broke through the clutter, but also broke the mold.” The Xerox Focus Forward campaign was the Gold Winner for the Best Multi-Market, Business-to-Business Event. It strived to change perceptions of Xerox from a copier company to a services-led, technology-driven thought leader. These 10 live presentations in U.S. cities attracted more than 1,000 attendees. And the return on investment from sales is 35 to 1.

Top CIOs In Mexico

CIO InfoWorld took on a big task. From more than 450 entries, it chose the leading”100 High Tech Organizations in Mexico.” The goal: Find those that use information technology (IT) in innovative ways to deliver value. For the second straight year, Xerox Mexicana made the list. It received recognition in the category of Mobility in 2014. This honor aligned with the local Xerox company’s goal to promote a collaborative work environment. They call it “The Hub,” and this SharePoint solution enables employees to share information no matter where they are. Congratulations to Elfina Cariño and Jorge Zendejas, who led this effort.
